Easy Organic Sesame Seed Tahini Recipe

This Sweet or Savoury Tahini recipe, a North African sesame seed paste, is a great peanut butter hack or alternative. So if you are allergic to peanuts, and most kids are, here’s a delicious and wholesome alternative. It’s very versatile and can be a great addition or accompaniment for a variety of dishes.

Ingredients
  1. 1.0 tbsp Sesame Seed Oil
  2. 1.0 tbsp Honey
  3. 0.5 tbsp Cinnamon
  4. 0.5 tbsp Mixed Spices
  5. 0.5 tbsp Cumin
  6. 0.25 tbsp Nutmeg
  7. 0.25 tbsp Coriander
  8. 150g Sesame Seeds
Instructions
  1. Toast sesame seeds in hot pan until most are light golden brown (about 3 minutes).
  2. Leave aside unto completely cool :)
  3. Add into food processor and blitz on high setting until seeds start breaking down.
  4. Add sesame seed oil and blitz until it smooth. (Tahini must be smooth and dripping but If you like a chunky spread then leave thick and crunchy)
  5. Separate mixture into two, one for the sweet and the other for the savory.
  6. In sweet batch, add the honey, nutmeg and cinnamon.
  7. For the savory batch, add salt(to taste), coriander and cumin.
